Make the new year resolution come true:Quit smoking without quitting cigerette!

lol, I know it sounds wiered "QUIT smoking WITHOUT QUITTING cigarette" there will be an exclamatory impression on your face right now as to well now how in the name of heaven is that possible, how can some one quit smoking without leaving the cigerette??? Ahaa...we are in the age of innovation people , where there is nothing impossible.

The Japanese inventions have always been a thing of creativity and curiosity for the audiences when it comes to information and technology. Here is a scoop on what they call is "Electronic Cigarette" for those who want to quit smoking but still have the satisfaction of smoking that smoke out.Try the new electronic cigarette to avoid burning a hole in your only pair of lungs..
Its an old statement when we advice the smokers to quit smoking .All they say is "oh yes i definitely I will" and the day never comes. It has never been easy but with technology, it becomes manageable.

Quitting smoking is not easy but many products are available to support you during the long severance process. One product from Japan is called MISMO, manufactured by Sosu Company Limited. It's an electric cigarette that generates pseudo smoke with water vapour, which contains vitamin C and coenzyme. First, you detach the empty cartridge and charge the battery for 10 hours. When it's fully charged, the LED light on the battery charger will change from red to green. Next, exchange the empty cartridge with the flavour cartridge that came with it. That's it. When you inhale, a refreshing steam comes into your mouth and fills it with the flavour of your choice: mint or grapefruit. The flavour is subtle, not too strong, so it will not bother people around you. Each cartridge will last for about 300 inhalations. Since it gives you the feeling of inhaling smoke into your lungs, it might ease the psychological desire for smoking (having something to do). The water vapour and the red LED light, acting as pseudo smoke and fire, may offer you some visual satisfaction.

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), smoking is the second leading cause of human death. The Japanese Ministry of Welfare reported that about 12% of people die because of their regular smoking habit. However, the Japanese government does not spend any money to change this situation. Compare this to the traffic safety budget of $17 billion (USD). The only person who can take care of your health is you.

The morph concept by Nokia : Future nanotechnology enabled nokia products

Well may be in future you will be able to fold your nokia phone in any shape and size you want!Yes nanotechnology will offer great benefits to the communication technologies as well,Nokia is the company which is researching this concept for its future phones.

Have a look at the future of nanotechnology enabled cell phones:

Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices:
  • Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials blend more seamlessly with the way we live
  • Devices become self-cleaning and self-preserving
  • Transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic dimension
  • Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst batteries become smaller, longer lasting and faster to charge
  • Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more about the environment around us, empowering us to make better choices

In addition to the advances above, the integrated electronics shown in the Morph concept could cost less and include more functionality in a much smaller space, even as interfaces are simplified and usability is enhanced. All of these new capabilities will unleash new applications and services that will allow us to communicate and interact in unprecedented ways.

Flexible & Changing Design

Morph Phone Operating
Nanotechnology enables materials and components that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong. Fibril proteins are woven into a three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic structures. Using the same principle behind spider silk, this elasticity enables the device to literally change shapes and configure itself to adapt to the task at hand.
A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and could lend itself ergonomically to being used as a traditional handset. An unfolded larger design could display more detailed information, and incorporate input devices such as keyboards and touch pads.
Even integrated electronics, from interconnects to sensors, could share these flexible properties. Further, utilization of biodegradable materials might make production and recycling of devices easier and ecologically friendly.

Self-Cleaning

Nanotechnology also can be leveraged to create self-cleaning surfaces on mobile devices, ultimately reducing corrosion, wear and improving longevity. Nanostructured surfaces, such as “Nanoflowers” naturally repel water, dirt, and even fingerprints utilizing effects also seen in natural systems.

Advanced Power Sources

Nanotechnology holds out the possibility that the surface of a device will become a natural source of energy via a covering of “Nanograss” structures that harvest solar power. At the same time new high energy density storage materials allow batteries to become smaller and thinner, while also quicker to recharge and able to endure more charging cycles.

Sensing The Environment

Nanosensors would empower users to examine the environment around them in completely new ways, from analyzing air pollution, to gaining insight into bio-chemical traces and processes. New capabilities might be as complex as helping us monitor evolving conditions in the quality of our surroundings, or as simple as knowing if the fruit we are about to enjoy should be washed before we eat it. Our ability to tune into our environment in these ways can help us make key decisions that guide our daily actions and ultimately can enhance our health.

CSE January 2010:Adam, the touch screen tablet

Android interface,Pixel Qui display: The new touch screen tablet which looks much smaller than others but does much bigger things than others.

So,what exactly is Adam? To quote one of its creator's:"It is a smartpad, small enough to be carried anywhere and big enough to do anything. It is a brainchild of Notion Ink, a Hyderabad start-up launched by seven Indians (six IITians and an MBA graduate), who left lucrative careers to realise their dream of designing a next-gen device at an affordable price. And if the 67 patents filed for the product in various categories are any indication, they have come a long way.

Weighing,770 grams, the 0.6-inch thick, 10.1-inch scratch-resistant touch screen device comes loaded with features that are likely to impress Eve.

Pixel Qi Display

The device will be among the first to feature Pixel Qi display, a low-cost, power-saving screen that can operate in three modes. Besides the LCD mode, it can run in a low-power, basic colour trans-reflective mode and a very low-power, sunlight-readable e-paper mode that mounts no pressure on the eye. The screen comes with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic (oil repelling) and anti-glare coating.
“We are the only ones to use Pixel Qi screens for Tablet technology. It consumes one-tenth of the battery compared with conventional LCDs,” says Rohan Shravan, founder, and director, Creatives, Notion Ink.

Tegra system-on-chip

The company reckons that the integral Lithium-ion battery will hold good up to 48 hours standby, eight hours of high definition video playback or 16 hours of Internet surfing  over WiFi.At its heart will be NVIDIA's powerful, yet energy-saving,eight-core Tegra system-on-chip,which will drive the system at astonishing speeds while ensuring battery longevity.

Android interface

“We wanted to adopt an OS which would make our device ‘talk’ to any other device. And we chose Google’s Android,” says Rohit Rathi, another co-founder.But, Android’s interface would appear stretched on the smartpad’s screen as it was originally designed for mobile phones, and this issue will have to be resolved.Notion Ink is talking to telecom providers (in India and the U.S.) to test the device for connectivity issues on delivery of the first batch of 60 Adams.

Best price

The best part: price. Notion Ink promises it will be Rs.15,000 when it is out in the U.S., European and Indian markets in June next year.“We collaborated with the best in the industry to provide days of computing,” says Sachin Ralhan, another co-founder.

The device will almost be entirely manufactured in Taiwan. TPK Touch Solutions (Xiamen) Inc. has been roped in for touch screens, and talks are on with major Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) for the final product.

Squeezed into Adam are water, ambient light and proximity sensors, accelerometer, assisted GPS, digital compass, built-in speakers and microphone. However, it will be loaded only with Flash memory (16 or 32 GB) augmented by Secure Digital (SD) card support.

It will have three interfaces: the touch screen, an on-screen virtual keyboard and a track pad located behind the screen, allowing users to manoeuvre the cursor from the front or the rear. A rotatable three megapixel camera at the top can effortlessly take pictures or videos within a 180 degree angle.

The developers were assisted by the National Institute of Design (Research and Development campus, Bangalore) in elements of next generation operating system (OS), user interfaces, usability issues and product concepts. For starters, Adam will support gesture control, thanks to the Android user interface.

So do you get put off by those wires lying there on the kitchen counter top of yours while you whisk your eggs, make an espresso, some guava juice for your health?? well yes we all do all this stuff on daily basis in our kitchen with a food processor,a coffee maker,a kitchenette mixer....and more of them with lots of wires,inlets.....some times you may even get an electric shock if you accidentaly  spill that yogurt near the power inlet...whoa its quite a messy place ...the kitchens are'nt they...

Lets go wireless with all those kitchen gadgets in future...no wires,no inlets,no fear of getting an electric shock when you spill something.Yes it will be soon a reality, check out the Powermat technology exhibited in CSE 2009.

Well it works this way:

Theres the power mat technology embedded in the kitchen counter top and all the kitchen appliences hava receiver technology embedded inside them. The counter top has several contact points .If you place any kitchen appliances on the power contact point, you can operate it  absolutely without any wires or cords. There is this small LED indicator with which you can easily know where is the contact point on the powermat.

Powermat technology on kitchen counter top:

So now it can be a food processor,a kitchenette mixer,a blender, whisker, grinder, even a blackberry or a laptop....you just have to place these devices on the powermat and you have all the power to run all of them without any wires...

That's not it you can mess around spill anything on the power mat and no worries!!!

Check out the CES 2009,Power mat technology below:

Kitchens of the Future

Welcome to the future kitchens of tomorrow!

So, most of us try to think and imagine how a future kitchen will look like and what all surprises will it have in the form of innovation.I say they will be more intelligent with their own brain (ofcourse the computer) they will think for everything rather than we thinking for anything when we enter our kitchen in the morning.

For me its very exciting when I think of the kitchens to exist in another five years time. For now when I operate my very intelligent voice operated ,sixth sense oriented washing machine,I can clearly figure out what the future of kitchen gadgets will bring with  for us.When am doing my laundry ,I dont feel that its a machine doing it for me but instead a maid.It responses to all my actions, takes the water and detergent just the amount required after sensing the type and quantity of cloths I put......so its all about inserting that brain inside the machines which think for us rather than ourselves.

Heres a look at the future kitchen with a central processing ,computer which takes care of everything in your kitchen from the food products to the refrigerator just like a mother who keeps a watch on its babies. No resource wasted, things accomplished in record time.

Nuclear Batteries: Fix the frustration , have your mobile phone and laptop batteries run for a month

The 2010 attraction will be the Nuclear Batteries, being developed at the university of Missouri:

When you ask a tech savvy youngster that what does he or she does most of the time during the day with their gizmos, pat comes the reply with a sigh " oh well we charge our laptops, handhelds, ipods, mobile phones and blah blah blah".

Take a breadth, soon you will no more waste your time and efforts in charging those one thousand electronic goofies of yours, entangling the wires, getting confused between multiple chargers. It will be a whole month where you will get to forget those nasty chargers which always keep looking at you to charge the electronics.

The Nuclear batteries does all the wonders:

Resembling the batteries of the medical pacemakers, named the nuclear batteries will be improvising the age old concept of "long lasting batteries", it will be a whole new revoloution in the world of mobile gadgets.Normally the makers of the electronic devices use smaller displays which are not very bright to avoid the draining energy from the batteries. With nuclear batteries there wont be such worry. This will be done by using the liquid semiconductor rather than the usual solid semiconductors. But the new nuclear battery would bring a solution based on a liquid semiconductor (rather than a solid semiconductor) that will produce a much longer lifetime for the battery. The reason is the solid semiconductors are attacked constantly by some radioactive elements used by other types of batteries, while the liquid semiconductor is quite resistant  to these attacks. Its the size of a penny and provides much more power than their treditional genre for it has a superior capacity.

Jae Kwon, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Missouri says  that the radioisotope battery “can provide power density that is six orders of magnitude higher than chemical batteries”. That is to say, it provides no less than a million times more charge than any “normal” battery.

Size matters when it comes to batteries these days due to the mobile technology devices. The size and thickness of a penny has to be worked up on to make it real small and practical for all those tiny wireless devices

Japan High Tech Exhibition 2009

Hola people, herez a byte from Japan High Tech Exhibit 2009.

Have a look at the jaw dropping technologies in electronics from the land of innovation,Tokyo, Japan...

MuRata girl , a bicycle and unicycle rider robot girl

The head turner of the exhibit was the MuRata girl , a robot which can ride a bicycle and a unicycle. It has several positioning ,motion and shock control sensors attached to its body, the robot can even detect the obstacles while balancing all by itself , MuRata manufacturing hopes to incorporate its robotic skills in several
electronic gadgets and cars.

The 3D-Floating Vision  without the traditional and uncomfy 3D eye glasses by Pioneer !

The next big thing in television technology by pioneer company which specializes in car stereos, plasma television and home theater systems has turned alot of heads. With its three dimensional display and 3D floating vision, will be capable of reflecting all kind of floating images that can be seen without 3D eye glasses
using this technology a user can physically scoop coupons from a television screen in their cell phone and receive the information at the same time.

Hit  your phone at the plasma in a Pizza Hut and get their coupons in your phone next time :

Toshiyoki Andoh, the floating dimensions director says that they have placed infrared censor around  the floating images that detects the cell phone when it hits the image on the televesion screen, sends out an imaged information from a computer via wireless lan and thats how coupons can be received on the cell phones...

Cool technology ehhh when you next time visit Mc.Donald's, or Pizza Hut or Domino's.....expect a plasma television installed at the counter where you can get their coupons in your phone right away by just hitting your cell phone against the plasma screen , so that you don't have the hassle of carrying or forgetting those paper coupons when you go out for a pepperoni next time......

wo wo wo be gentle before u end up paying for that broken plasma screen and your goofy ;)))))

Adios fellas

Real View 360 degree 3D Scanner

Well sometimes I play with my existing HP 3030 scanner, apart from scanning my usual stuff like pictures, news paper articles, book pages ,I also like to scan my jewellery to show it to my friends on internet and get their comments.Infact, I also have my first valentine rose scanned which was given to me by my better half ;)....But I always got disappointed that there is no 3D feature in my scanner.I can only get the flat images. So what about my other stuff like porcelain pottery or a china cup which I desperately want my friends to see it in real???? :(

But whoahhh now in future may be I can proudly show off my  ruby gold wine glass  which I picked from  the famous Murano glass Venice! that really sounds something to me....ahaa its quite possi with the Real View 360 degree 3D scanner i saw at CSE.

Here Real-View 3D demonstrated their entry level 3D scanner, the RealView 360 3D.I heard that Real View is looking at a great deal with e-bay...well well looks like we would soon be able to see any product in a 3D image which definitely would give us a real view feel, with an animated 3D GIF on e-bay I would shop a whole lota world.Marketing products online with a real view touch to delight and satisfy the customers , I dont think it can get any better. The price:less than 500$.
